Our Catholic Schools:
Centered in Christ, Committed to Excellence.
Students have the opportunity to encounter our Lord through Holy Mass. Each school community gathers regularly to worship God, and students are encouraged to serve in ministries, including as lectors (readers), cantors, choir members and altar servers.
Prayer and Scripture are woven throughout the school day. Each of our schools has their own traditions, from Nouvel Catholic Central High School's Honor Guard that carries the Cross for school Masses to Our Lady of Lake Huron's morning Prayer and Pledge, and we are united as followers of Jesus.
Students are also encouraged to give back to their school, parish and communities through group and individual service opportunities. All graduates meet or exceed the minimum service hours needed to graduate, which varies by school, and a number of graduates each year volunteer 200+ hours during their high school careers.
In addition to the Faith present and practiced throughout the day, students also experience intentional and consistent religious instruction. The Diocese of Saginaw theology curriculum includes catechesis, Church history and opportunities to grow in relationship with Jesus Christ.
Some of our schools also offer Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori-style catechetical program in which children encounter God through hands-on works (activities) and contemplation.Students graduate from our Catholic schools with a mature understanding of our Catholic faith, morals and virtues.
