Diocese of Saginaw Catholic school educators attended the annual Michigan Association of Non-public SchoolsSchool Law Seminar at the Michigan Catholic Conference in Lansing on June 14. The seminar is designed to help administrators navigate educational law and learn about the latest legal developments.
Law professionals from across the state addressed a variety of topics surrounding educational law, including Title IX, the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act, Department of Labor rules, artificial intelligence, truancy law and behavioral threat management. Guests included Will Bloomfield, the general counsel for the Diocese of Lansing, Michelle Kolkmeyer of Bodman Law and Conor Dugan of South Bank Legal. A legal panel ended the day taking questions from attendees.
