Students, faculty, families and friends across the Diocese of Saginaw celebrated Catholic Schools Week, a nationwide celebration of the many contributions of Catholic schools to the Church and wider community.
This year's Catholic Schools Week ran from Jan. 28 to Feb. 3 with the theme of “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.”
Some of the activities that occurred during the week include:
Students from across the diocese joining in prayer together through a zoom session on Monday (pictured above)
Celebration of 150 years of Catholic education at All Saints Central
Field trip to Solanus Casey Center
Celebrating Vocations: Q&As with Sisters, Priests and Deacons at multiple schools as well as Dress like Father Kevin at Our Lady of Lake Huron
Masses and visiting with Bishop Robert Gruss (and his chocolate lab, Coco) throughout the week
Masses with families and alumni
Candle Mass for Candlemas (Feast of the Presentation of the Lord)
Visiting senior living centers and making cards for veterans at a local hospital
Praise and worship concert with a praise band at Sacred Heart
Family carnival, sock hop and luncheons
STEM fair
Talent show
