Families and supporters of Catholic schools can advocate for the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA), a federal tax credit program that would bring school choice to all states.
The ECCA is a bill to provide federal income tax credit to donors of contributions to scholarship-granting organizations in every state. This bill will soon be considered by Congress—and now is the time to advocate for its inclusion in the Reconciliation legislation.

The bill will provide a non-refundable 100 percent federal income tax credit that would generate up to as much as $10 billion in annual donations to not-for-profit scholarship granting organizations (SGOs). Scholarships could be used to pay tuition and expenses for other education services for K-12 students. Michigan would receive up to $20 million in potential funding.
This program would help reduce or eliminate the cost barrier for families who desire a Catholic education for their children, according to Bruce Hermie, national director the implementation at the American Federation for Children.
