Students, faculty, families and friends across the Diocese of Saginaw celebrated Catholic Schools Week, a nationwide celebration of the many contributions of Catholic schools to the Church and wider community.
Supported by EANS (Emergency Assistance for Non-Public Schools) grant funding, St. Michael School in Pinconning has added numerous technology and security upgrades.
Student athletes from our three Catholic high schools-- All Saints Catholic, Nouvel Catholic Central and Sacred Heart Academy-- received fall sports recognition for athletic and academic achievements, as well as good sportsmanship. Congratulations to all our student athletes!
Kindergarten teacher Susie Hollingshead of St. Brigid Catholic School, Midland, was named Best K-12 Educator in the 2023 Midland Daily News Readers Choice Awards. With 30 years of education experience, Mrs. Hollingshead lives by the statement she tells parents during the annual kindergarten open house: “This is your child’s first year, and I want it to be exceptional.”

Krista Willertz, Catholic identity and curriculum coordinator for the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Saginaw, joined educators from Saint Brigid Catholic School at the Institute for Catholic Liberal Education (ICLE) National Conference July 17 through 20 in Pittsburg.

To our Catholic School community: The close of the 2022-23 school year represents the end of the first year of the Our Catholic Schools: Centered in Christ, Committed to Excellence initiative. It has been a busy year. We are pleased to provide an update on our progress thus far as well as to highlight some of the great things happening in our schools.
The Office of Catholic Schools is excited to recognize the 2022-23 recipients of the Excellence in Teaching award recipients, Jessica Spencer and Charles “Chuck” Pavlik.
This has been a blessed and busy year for the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan (CCFMM). The CCFMM distributed more than $900,000 during the past year with almost half of the funds earmarked for Catholic education in the Diocese of Saginaw.
